SUBR FREE Webinar - Discussing Biomedical Research with the Public: Today's Generational Changes that Create the Imperative for Transparency

On behalf of States United for Biomedical Research (SUBR), I share the following information about a free SUBR webinar that is intended for all members of the laboratory animal research community: Discussing Biomedical Research with the Public: Today's Generational Changes that Create the Imperative for Transparency Wednesday, February 21, 2018 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. EST Most biomedical research institutions keep a very low public profile. Ken Gordon, Executive Director of the Northwest Association for Biomedical Research, will show how the traditional approach to discussing biomedical research is counterproductive. The millennial generation is demanding enhanced transparency, openness and public accountability. Failure to respond to these demands for transparency leaves the biomedical research community open to the charge that it is being deceptive and can break down the trust that is needed for the continuation of scientific development. In this interactive webinar, Gordon will outline the antecedents to the perceived breakdown in trust, and he will suggest strategies that biomedical research organizations should follow to re-engage with all communities. States United for Biomedical Research (SUBR) is a consortium of state and regional organizations that have joined forces to promote public understanding of and support for biomedical research. - http://statesforbiomed.org
